Community Guidelines
These guidelines apply to anyone who submits a review, photo, or any other user-generated content to corporateevents.at. The goal is a helpful, honest directory — for planners, for venues, and for the broader corporate-events community.
1. Be honest
- Only review venues you have actually visited or worked with for an event.
- Describe what you experienced — service, space, food, AV, parking, accessibility, value.
- Disclose any material conflict of interest (you work for the venue, you got a discount in exchange for the review, etc.).
2. Be specific
- Specifics help other planners. "Loved it" or "Hated it" without context is less useful than "The 200-person seated dinner setup worked smoothly; AV team was responsive but slow to load in."
- Include the type of event you hosted and the approximate guest count.
- Mention timing (e.g., "weekday corporate breakfast" vs. "Saturday gala").
3. Be fair
- Critique the venue, not specific individual employees by name.
- If something went wrong, say what — not personal attacks on staff.
- If the venue made it right, say that too.
4. We will remove content that
- Contains hate speech, slurs, or attacks on protected classes.
- Threatens, harasses, or intimidates any individual.
- Makes specific factual claims that are demonstrably false.
- Includes personal contact information (phone numbers, emails, addresses) of any individual without consent.
- Violates third-party copyright or trademark.
- Is sexually explicit or pornographic.
- Promotes illegal activity.
- Is clearly automated, mass-submitted, or part of a coordinated review-bombing campaign.
- Is a paid review without disclosure.
- Is submitted by the venue itself, an employee, a competitor, or anyone with an undisclosed material conflict of interest.
5. We may remove content that
- Is solely promotional ("call this venue!") rather than experiential.
- Repeats spam patterns from other reviews on the Site.
- Contains nothing but emojis, stars, or one-word judgments.
- Reviews a different business than the one being commented on.
- Reviews an event the author did not attend.
6. Photos
- Submit only photos you took yourself or have explicit rights to.
- No photos that identify private individuals (other than yourself) without their consent.
- Aim for honest representation — don't doctor the photo to misrepresent the venue's appearance.
7. Moderation process
- All new reviews enter a "pending" state and are not publicly visible until approved.
- Identity is verified via email magic link (one-time, 15-minute expiry) before the moderation queue picks up the submission.
- Moderation is performed by humans on our team, supported by automated spam detection (Cloudflare Turnstile, content classifier).
- Most reviews are reviewed within 3 business days; high-volume periods may extend to 5.
8. If your review is removed
You will receive an email with the reason. You may appeal once by replying with corrections or context. We do not engage in extended appeals on the same review.
9. Venue responses
Once a venue claims their listing (see claim flow), they can publicly respond to reviews. Responses are subject to these same guidelines.
10. Reporting a review
See a review that violates these guidelines? Email book@corporateevents.at with subject "Review report", the venue page URL, and the specific review snippet. We investigate within 5 business days.
11. Legal context
User-submitted content is governed by §6 of our Terms and Conditions. Submitting a review grants us the rights described there. We rely on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act for protection from liability arising from user-submitted content; this does not change our editorial discretion to moderate.
